For 57 years, Osseo Area Schools current and former employees and community members have put on an annual variety show to raise money for scholarships to assist graduating students in their post-secondary plans. Some of the performers have been involved since the original show in 1967 and continue to come back year after year. This year, the performers invite the community to come and check out The Big Game at “Wastebasket Revue: LVII” at an upcoming show.

A partial solar eclipse is expected in the Twin Cities metro area from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, April 8. An uncommon midday darkness will be experienced during this time as the sun is blocked by the moon. 

Osseo Area Schools will host a Spring Career Expo Tuesday, March 26, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Zanewood Community: A STEAM School.

National School Breakfast Week is March 4-8. In Osseo Area Schools, the dedicated nutrition services workers work each day to provide students with nutritious and delicious breakfasts, free to all students. Around 300-400 students eat breakfast at each site every day. 

Brooklyn Middle STEAM School (BMS) students in select seventh and eighth grade technology classes beefed up their science and engineering knowledge base and their real-world applications Jan. 30, when Boston Scientific engineers visited the school for an interactive lesson on stents. 

Eighth graders at Brooklyn Middle STEAM School (BMS) recently participated in a career day. The students heard from professionals in a variety of different fields.

Nearly 180 students from the district’s four middle schools came together on Jan. 10 for a day of shared music and performance.
